My Helios accidents

Posted on 24 June 201228 December 2023

I recently got a Helios 44 preset which I’ve only started to experiment with. Short answer though is that I love it, and I love the way you can subtly adjust the apertures. Everyone raves about the bokeh or out of focus rendering the Helios give. Here are a couple of shots where the out of focus region was part of the main object.

For the second image, every time I look at it full screen I get a psychedelic feeling that the red regions are moving towards me.

I’m not sure I like either of the pictures, but I’d rate them as something a little different as far as flower shots go.
